@zorro:I updated my default PDF viewer (PDF-XChange Viewer 2.5.320) today. Tracker Software still updates the Viewer.Why don't I use the PDF-XChange Editor? Simple, I need a PDF viewer, not an editor.

The best pdf viewer I've ever used. The free version is excellent and far easier to use (and faster) than Adobe Reader. In new version I looked some nice futures as changing colour, fonts or main background according to your style and mood, I can close even a single opened tab without closing the Viewer itself, ... I think about buying PRO.
Someone earlier in this thread [Tinte] mentioned the regret of not being able to create new bookmarks- True, but the free version of Foxit Reader allows the creation of Bookmarks-- I use Foxit & PDF XChange viewer as a "suite", utilizing the features of each that I need for a particular document.
I tried Pdf XChange viewer and then bought the full program. The free viewer includes most necessary commenting and annotation tools - quite a lot, in fact - but not the ability to delete individual pages or merge documents. I need to be able to do this and bought the Pro version. The license key also works in the portable version, meaning I now have full control over pdf documents regardless of which PC I work on - a great advantage since my workplace PC does not have Acrobat and Pdf XChange works much better than Acrobat anyway. Its very, very well made.
The default viewer for PDF documents in Mac OS X is Preview. Preview will open PDF documents for viewing but it will NOT display dynamic/interactive content embedded into PDF forms such as drop down menus and calendar features. For Mac users to be able to see this content, they must tell their computer to open PDF files with Adobe Reader, or Adobe Acrobat Standard, or Adobe Acrobat Professional.To do this:
Now ok that, and quit TeXShop (you need to quit and reopen to make it honour the preference). Now all you need to do is open the pdf you're working on with TeXShop, and the TeX file in your editor of choice. Any changes to the pdf will make the viewer refresh.
As OS X has built-in capability of displaying PDF, there are several application based on it. Preview.app is shipped with OS X, Skim is a sourceforge project and TeXShop (mentioned in another answer) is shipped with MacTeX. All of these support automatic reloading. Note that these viewers have a few limitations compared to the Adobe Reader, for example they cannot display layers (OCGs) selectively, they do not execute JavaScript and have a few other problems (see for example the recent question about hyphenation and searchable pdf).

Being the default photo viewer, Preview will automatically launch if you open any image or PDF document on your Mac. As useful as it is, some users with specific needs will find this behavior more of an annoyance than a helpful feature and would like to default to other apps for opening images. For example, you might want to make Photoshop your default image viewer and editor. Or maybe you want Pixelmator to be that go-to app.
